At the sponsorship announcement last Friday, August 9th, BSP Vanuatu Country Manager Nik Regenvanu said, "BSP is pleased to support the prestigious event on the golf calendar that gives opportunities to golfers in the country."
"The sport not only provides pathway for the golfers but a lifetime activity that promotes physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals. BSP also encourages health and social status in communities through sports and development," Regenvanu added.
Chairman of the Vanuatu Golf Open committee Bryan Death thanked BSP for another year of great support to host the significant sporting event in the country.
The event will see close to 200 golfers including BSPs very own golfer in the Open's challenge, Ms Connie Matavatu from Mele village competing against professionals from several countries including
USA, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, The UK and New Caledonia.
The Registration for the tournament will open on Tuesday 27th August from 11am-1pm at the Holiday Inn and Swire Shipping Pro Am will be on Wednesday 28th August.
The 4 days main event will tee off on Thursday 29th August and end on Sunday 1st September.
BSP will also put on a delicious BBQ as an in-kind support to all the caddies and their families on the final day of the event to encourage the Tournament Committee and junior local's participation in Vanuatu golf.
