A vacancy now exists for a Head of Business Banking within the Business Banking Department, Vanuatu. Reporting to the Country Head and Head of Pacific Markets Business Banking; the successful applicant will be responsible to lead and manage the Corporate Banking Team to achieve sustainable and optimum profitability for the “Business Segment” of the Bank through increasing lending book in order to meet the Banks overall strategic goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop effective budget plans for all areas of Loans/Deposits and Income/Expenditure to grow the lending and deposit volumes in order to achieve the bank’s profitability targets.
- Responsible for controlling and protecting significant deposits within portfolio of accounts and monitor levels of business gain and portfolio growth against budget forecasts and reports on variance.
- Ensure that Lending applications are processed to a high standard with overview and training to specific Managers where required and conduct performance overview of Relationship Manager Lending growth.
- Manage the Relationship Manager Performance assessments and reviewer of all subordinate lending staff assessment according to the performance targets for the business unit.
- Ensure that all Business area customer complaints are resolved to create customer satisfaction at all times.
- Oversee staff training & development in the business unit in consultation with HR Training to ensure staff deliver high standard of service.
- Control marketing program for Small Medium Enterprise (SME) businesses and ensure bank tenders are prepared and presented to existing and prospective clients.
- Identify prospective prime target business and develop new business portfolio through networking.
Key Requirements
- University Degree in Banking, Accounting, Business or related field
- Good financial and analytical skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Lending environment
