Head of Business, Corporate & Institutional Banking

Position Details

About the Rule

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the Business, Corporate and Institutional Banking team to drive the creation of shareholder value and the achievement of key balanced scorecard outcomes for the team. This role based in Port Vila, Vanuatu has dual reporting to Country Head Vanuatu and the Pacific Markets Head of Business, Corporate & Institutional Banking.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of a Business, Corporate & Institutional Banking plan in the local market, in line with the broader country and Pacific Business Banking.
  • Lead a team of Relationship Managers, Relationship Officers and Credit Analysts to grow and retain Business, Corporate & Institutional Banking customer base portfolios.
  • Drive strong relationships with internal and external business partners to deliver quality customer outcomes for mutual benefit within the business community.
  • Build and continually inspire trust and confidence in the team and broader business partners/stakeholders at large.
  • Ensure consistent procedures & processes are in place for conducting performance reviews and planning where team members are held accountable for consistently achieving their activity commitments and key targets.
  • Embed compliance and operational risk management practices into all business activities.

Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience

  • 5-10 years’ experience Senior Management roles in Business & Corporate Banking.
  • University Degree in Banking, Accounting, Business or related field.
  • Proven experience in leading high performing teams to deliver results.
  • Sound operational banking and financial acumen/ banking finance knowledge.
  • Proven track record in delivering business performance through strategic & operational competence
  • Strong sales management, reporting & coaching skills.
  • Strong People Management skills with plans to train/upskill upcoming talent pool.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, all MS suites computer literacy.
  • Advanced technical skills in financials, numeracy, risk and organisational management.
