BSP Financial Group Limited (BSP) presented a donation of $10,000 to the Fiji Cancer Society to boost its efforts with supporting cancer patients and their caregivers.
BSP Group Board Chairman Sir Kostas Constantinou, OBE said, “We are pleased to be supporting such a worthy group for more than ten years and also recognise the great work they do with ensuring that patients do not battle Cancer alone”.
The Fiji Cancer Society has been receiving annual donations from BSP over the years which has totaled over $150,000 and complements the Bank’s ongoing commitment to Community & Vanua in Fiji and across the Pacific.
“As a group, being part of the community is a part of our culture. Our values include looking after our staff,
our customers and the communities where we are represented”, he added. Fiji Cancer Society Chief Executive Officer, Belinda Chan expressed her sincere appreciation for the Bank’s tremendous support. “We are focused on patient needs, in all stages of their journey with Cancer. Our services include awareness programs that encourage screening, assisting with the supply of treatment drugs and consumables, training caregivers and extends to the wider network of charity organisations focused on Cancer to help forge stronger ties that give us a louder voice,” she said. “BSP’s donation to support the Fiji Cancer Society is definitely going to channel back to Communities through our services”.
The Fiji Cancer Society advocates holistic cancer control and management by building capacity to improve the quality of life for patients. Since entering Fiji in 2009, BSP has invested well over $10m in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, including the Fiji Cancer Society, that help give back to Communities in which BSP is represented.
