BSP Executive Management Team changes.
The BSP Financial Group Limited today announced the appointment of Paul Black as the Group’s General Manager for its Pacific Markets operations. This follows changes announced on Wednesday 7th August, 2024 on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) as well as the Port Moresby Exchange (PNGX). These executive leadership changes will further support the Bank’s Modernisation for Growth agenda.
As he welcomed Paul Black to the Executive leadership team, Mr. Robinson thanked Maryann Lameko Vaai for her leadership of the Pacific Markets business since 2022. Maryann is assuming the role of Acting Chief Financial Officer at BSP.
Mr. Black an experienced Retail and Corporate banking executive with over 35 years of experience in banking. Prior to joining the BSP Group, Paul spent over 22 years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia where he held various senior leadership roles before joining BSP in 2011. Paul has held the position of Deputy General Manager Corporate Banking since 2015. Over the past few years he has also supported the Pacific Markets, leading the teams in Vanuatu and Cook Islands.
Paul has specialist skills in Corporate lending, Credit Risk mitigation, negotiation and is a strong people leader. He is a member of FINSIA and is currently completing his MBA with the Australian Institute of Business.
In announcing this appointment, Group CEO Mark Robinson shared that “Paul is an experienced leader, and like his BSP colleagues, deeply familiar with the South Pacific region in which we operate. The Executive leadership changes announced today show the depth of banking experience at BSP and will enhance the execution of our modernising for growth agenda.”
